Galaxy S24 Launch Date and Availability
Samsung is breaking its tradition by unveiling the Galaxy S24 series in January 2024, one month earlier than usual. The firm has chosen San Jose, California, USA as the venue for its Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event, indicating a shift from its usual location in New York. The Elec reports that Samsung will announce the Galaxy S24 on January 17, 2024.
Customers will have the opportunity to pre-order the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra on January 18, with the devices set to reach customers from January 26 to January 30. For those who do not place pre-orders, the Galaxy S24 will be available for purchase starting from January 30, 2024.
Pricing and Features of the Galaxy S24 Series
Although the pricing for the Galaxy S24 series is not clear yet, speculators anticipate that Samsung will keep prices comparable to the Galaxy S23 series. The Galaxy S24 will probably start at $900, with the Galaxy S24+ and the Galaxy S24 Ultra potentially carrying price tags of $1,000 and $1,200, respectively.
As previously reported, the Galaxy S24 will be Samsung’s first AI Phone, offering the company’s in-house developed AI features. In addition, Samsung may undergo a rebranding of its virtual assistant Bixby to Galaxy AI, having already introduced the AI-powered real-time language transliteration feature during calls.
The Reasoning Behind Samsung’s Choice of Venue and Timing
Samsung is considering San Francisco and Seoul for the Galaxy S24 launch event locations but opted for San Jose due to its close collaboration with Google and the ongoing competition with Apple. By launching the Galaxy S24 two weeks earlier than the Galaxy S23, Samsung aims to improve revenue for the first quarter of the year. This strategic move will help the company achieve sales peaks in both Q1 and Q3 with the launch of its Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series phones.
